Sunday Gathering

On January 25th we had our first Sunday worship gathering.

The children had games, a bible lesson and..........

food!!!

It was a casual gathering and a great time of fellowship!

Some of the people gathered Glen and Sandy Heath, Bob Turner, Nerina McKenna, Ken and Wanda Stevens and Edith Moser.

Others were Tony McKenna, Butch and Jean Neal, Marty Smith, Betty Camper and John and Yuni Smith and their new baby.

We had a great group.

Helen McKenna keeps a watchful eye on the children.

"Smile Helen!"

Conner, Lydia and Alyssa enjoy a game of Four in a Row!

Randy taught us about the Church, the Body of Christ, the Ecclesia. We are continuing to meet on Sundays and are praying and waiting for God to guide. Our faith remains strong and we are greatly blessed. We had a great fellowship with around 35 in attendance.
Lord, we ask You for Your guidance. We ask for Your voice to lead us. Open our ears to hear even a whisper from You. Open doors for us and let us not hesitate to follow wherever you call. Thank you for your wonderous blessings. We give you all honor and praise and in Jesus most precious and holy name. AMEN

Hands Helping!

God's Helping Hands are back helping again. They are now working to complete work on the McKenna home doing some much needed renovation on the children's bedrooms and schoolroom since they are homeschoolers. They will also be putting in a much needed bathroom.

Here Bob takes some measurements while Don looks on.

Here a new ceiling is going up in one of the rooms.

Hardworking men need to eat and Tony McKenna knows how to cook.

Thank you Lord for this food.

Tony serves up the grub!

Peep Eye!

Arlie has his head in .........the rafters!

Bob and Teddy check out the postings!

Teddy keeps everyone smiling.

A small closet will become a bigger one. Teenagers need their space!

A few more days of teamwork will complete this job as another waits. Thank God for blessing this group of godly men that come out and volunteer their time and materials to help a brother in need. It is such a joy to serve with them.

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009!!!!!

New Year's Eve members from God's Helping Hands and Wabi-Sabi Women joined with members of Under His Shadow Ministries to say goodbye to 2008 and ask God for His blessings for 2009. Our last time just to relax before getting back to work after the holiday season. A time to forget the struggles of the last year and look forward to the many opportunities God will present in 2009.

Some of us played a rousing game of "What if............?

What if .....I had a booger on my nose, would you tell me?

Glen Heath got in one last nap in 2008!

"I am not a crook"

"Are these old people for real?"

"Run that by me again"!

PIZZA DELIVERY!!!

"OH, ain't they sweet!"

"What if WHAT?"

"I'm up to something.....Don't take my picture!"

College Corner....How did Glen Heath get in there?

Lydia strikes a pose. America's Next Top Model?

"Let's PARTY!!!"

"I'm really not listening to them."

"Cody, what are you hiding?"

Watching the countdown in Time's Square.

"Wake up Eddie, it's almost midnight!"

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

"It's past my bedtime!"

"Take me home, I haven't had any sleep all year!!"
As 2009 has begun we pray for God to use us this year in His service. We pray He will lead and guide us to the people that need help in any number of areas. We pray that our ministries are bonded and united in mind and spirit. We dedicate 2009 to You Lord. We are your instruments. Use us for your purpose.

Best Wishes Party (Off to College)!!!

The last Monday in December, the group took a break from bible study to help support Randy and Jackie as they prepared to send their only son off to college. It was again a show of genuine love and support for the Camper family. We meet in this home every Monday and so this Monday was just a special time to spend with Cody and to give him well wishes, advice and pieces of wisdom. Thanks to all of you who made this night special and for the support it gave to Jackie during this very hard time for her. Thanks to Bob and Melissa Turner for the beautiful, tasty cake and to everyone else who brought things to make this night special for Cody and his parents. Here are some of the memories from that night.

Yum!! Yum!!! Must have sugar before heading to college!!! Good Advice!!!!

Could Barbara be giving driving tips for the WV mountains? Is that a good thing?
It is if you want to know how to get there fast!!!

The Happy Campers, Randy, Jackie and Cody.

Charlie Coe

Cody's friend, Sarah

Smilin' Teddy

Sarah can't hold back the laughs as Cody and JJ give us a pose of their best side!

Can't have a party without PIZZA! And there was a full house!

The Wabi-Sabi girls enjoyed the food and the conversation.

Cody's aunt and uncle, Johnny and Betty Camper.

Arlie Boyd was all smiles, enjoying conversation with other members of God's Helping Hands!

Sarah, with David Lloyd and Hammond Hunt.

Hammond Hunt enjoyed getting to know some of the group better.

Cody's ol' buddy, Heather (BUBBA) MaHala was there.
Ain't she a hoot?

The Brown family was there with well wishes. It was so nice to have them join us.

Cody gets some advice from Bob Turner and Bill Coalson
while Tony McKenna and Jack Mason talk solar.

Hugh and Linda Wise were in attendance with words of encouragement.

Cody wants to thank everyone for their kindnesses, words of encouragment, cards, advice and money as he prepared to leave home for the first time. Randy and Jackie thank everyone for the awesome love and support shown to them during this time of struggle and adjustment. God always sends manna when we're hungry, He gives us water when we thirst and He gives us rest when we are weary, and He gives us Himself through the love of all of you when we just need a little support. Thanks Wabi-Sabi Sisters and God's Helping Hands. Thanks to all your prayers Cody made it to school and has settled in well and Jackie is making the adjustment to having the empty nest. God is so good!
