GHH "B" Street Project

God's Helping Hands has begun it's most recent project on B Street in the King's Mountain Community doing some much needed renovations. the team will be renovating a bathroom, bedroom, kitchen/dining room and living room. The owner is disabled and the home has fallen into disrepair.

Old floor was completely removed in the kitchen.

"Thank God, a good number of helping hands showed up for demo."

Out with the old.

Drywall also needed to be replaced.

Some of the Wabi-Sabi girls showed up to support the men and give the project a womanly flair!

Bob and Teddy look over the situation.

Lunch is served at the Happy Camper Campground.

The whole crew enjoyed hot dogs, baked beans, potato salad and dessert.

Back to work!

After some teamwork the floor and the drywall are replaced!

We will also being doing some work around the home. Praise God for a beautiful sunny day.
We will rejoice and be glad!

We will also be replacing some windows and working on the guttering.

Progress continues!!
The "B" Street Project is continuing and much progress is being made. I will keep updating the blog as work goes on. Thanks to all for the many hours of volunteer time that has gone into this project so far and the dedication and humility of this team. God continues to bless your obedience and the love and kindness you show as you serve Him.

Red Envelope Project

The Wabi-Sabi girls recently participated in a grassroots project to support abortion awareness and to do what we could to make our voices heard.

We all sent red envelopes to President Obama to represent the innocent blood shed by abortion.

Our hope is to flood the White House mailbag with red envelopes so we have invited and encouraged other individuals and groups to participate also.

This message was written on the back of each envelope.
We have remained silent too long while innocent children are exterminated.
Thanks to all the girls for taking part and sharing their enthuiasm with others.
"Let our hearts and voices be united!"

WABI-SABI'S WANDER OUT FOR SOME FUN!!!

The Wabi-Sabi Girls wandered out for a little fun and fellowship at Celebration Church in Kingsport's Valentine Event. A evening of comedy with Christian comedian, Thor Ramsey. Here the girls strike a pose and put on some big smiles for the camera.

(l to r) Sammie Ball, Mary Ann Altum, Mary Jane Taylor, Jackie Camper, Barbara McCracken, Wilma Vicars and Melissa Turner.
We planned this event in advance and we want to thank Carole Meade and Melissa Turner for taking care of the tickets and arrangements for us. We invited GHH to also join us for the event. It was just a great night of fun.

Two of the men that wandered out with us were Bob Turner and Teddy Summit.
"Smile for the camera Teddy!"

Here is some more of our crew that turned out for the event.
(Front Row) Larry & Carole Meade, Edith Moser, Sammie Ball and Nerina McKenna
(Back Row) Michelle & Chris Brown and Mary Jane & Don Taylor
(not pictured) Hugh & Linda Wise and Linda's sister.

Time for a little conversation and picture taking before the event started.

Our friends from WCQR Christian Radio were there giving away prizes and having great fun.
We are so thankful for WCQR and the blessing they are to us everyday.
We really appreciate them sponsoring Christian events we can take our families to.

Then Thor Ramsey took the stage and the laughs began.

He even called on our friends Carole and Larry Meade concerning how long they had been married. The whole night was hilarious!

All that laughter stirred up some appetities so we headed to Cracker Barrell for some grub!

Three generations of the Meade family enjoyed the evening.

We had a great crowd and we were thankful that they were able to sit us all together.

Cory and Mary Ann Altum had a great time. What a cute couple they are!

Bob and Melissa Turner are a "cute" couple too and really had a great evening out with alot of their friends. Look at those smiles!!

Bob, Teddy and Arlie & Christine laughing at Cory.
Maybe he has a future as an opening act for Thor.

All and all you can see that this was a wonderful fun filled evening and we all had a great time. We are looking for other family events we can enjoy together. We work together and play together. What a blessing God has given each of us.........each other!!
